The much awaited Redmi 9 Prime has finally been launched in India on Aug 04 completing its circle of Redmi 9 series. It features a FHD+ Display and is powered by Helio G80 processor.
Redmi 9 saw its Global launch a few months after numerous leaks and there was lot of news about its India launch which finally took place today. The Redmi 9 series leaks hinted at multiple Redmi 9 variants to come in market in the form of Redmi 9a, Redmi 9c up until last few days. These rumors were brought to halt when Manu Kumar Jain declared the Redmi 9 Prime as the single device by bringing the Prime series, that would see the face of Indian shore.
Redmi 9 Prime is the predecessor to the Redmi 8 which was launched last year and also saw its Redmi 8A Dual upgrade. It is launched in four different set of colors, with 5020 MaH battery and two storage options. It has got a massive upgrade over the Snapdragon 439 powered Redmi 8 and is being launched with Mediatek Helio G80.
Redmi 9 Global launch saw it released with a 3GB variant while the Redmi 9 Prime is starting with minimum 4GB variant considering the need of the hour. Hence India for now doesn’t get to have the 3GB variant as was available for the Global launch.
By now Redmi, post Covid-19 has seen the launch of Redmi Note 9 a few weeks back which was followed by the much and highly anticipated Redmi Note 9 Pro and Redmi Note 9 Pro Max. Redmi 9 Prime completes the Redmi 9 family and hope it’s final in the series till in next few months we see the Redmi 10 series taking over. But it’s time to sit back and enjoy Redmi 9 Prime which has direct competition with the likes of Realme Narzo, Realme C15 and Samsung Galaxy M31 to name a few.
